Most coaches lose Sunday to the same job: read every client's check-in, then rewrite next week's training and meals. On Trainzilla the check-in is where the work starts. The AI drafts next week's plan from what the client actually told you, and nothing reaches the client until you approve it.
The loop, step by step
- The client completes their check-in in the client app: how the week went, weight, notes, and photos if you ask for them.
- The AI drafts the next plan from the client's intake answers and that check-in. The draft appears in your queue as awaiting review, and you get a notification.
- You open the draft and either approve it, edit it, or reject it. Editing uses the same plan builder you already use for hand-written plans.
- Only after you approve does the client see the new plan. If you reject a draft, the client keeps the plan they already have.
What the AI is working from
The draft is only as good as the inputs, so Trainzilla checks the inputs first. If a client's intake is incomplete, the system does not guess and hand every new client the same generic plan. It holds the draft until there is enough to work with. That is also why a short, specific intake form is worth the effort.
What stays in your hands
- Approval: every AI-drafted plan waits for you. There is no auto-send.
- Editing: change exercises, sets, meals or quantities before approving, exactly as with any plan.
- Rejecting and re-running: send a draft back and ask for a new one if it missed the mark.
- Which clients: the AI Coach is a separate, client-paid plan for people who want no human coach. Your own clients stay under your approval.
A realistic Sunday
If you coach 30 clients, reading 30 check-ins still takes time, and it should. The saving is in the rewriting. Instead of starting from a blank plan, you start from a draft that already reflects the client's week, then spend your attention on the clients who need a human decision: the injury, the missed weeks, the plateau.
We have not measured how many hours this saves an average coach, so we will not quote a number. The practical test is simple: try it with five clients for two weeks and compare how long approval takes with how long writing from scratch took.
Frequently asked questions
Can the AI send a plan without my approval?
No. Drafts wait for your review. See Is AI safe for personal training? for how the approval step works.
Does it replace my programming?
No. It drafts; you decide. Coaches keep their templates, exercise choices and judgement.
Is the AI plan agent extra?
The AI plan agent is part of Coach Pro. See pricing for current plans.
